FAQs

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

We require a minimum of 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment without being charged. If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled session or do not show up for your appointment, you will be billed the full session fee.

Late Arrival Policy

  • If you arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled session, the session will still be conducted, but it will end at the originally scheduled time.

  • If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to the office, it will be at the therapist’s discretion whether the session will still take place or need to be rescheduled.

  • For virtual sessions, the therapist will wait 15 minutes. If you do not log in by then, the session will be automatically canceled, and you will be charged the full session fee.

Payment Policy

Payment is due the morning of your session. No one likes a surprise bill, and that’s why we don’t let you rack up debt here. If a payment fails, you will be contacted by our billing department to resolve the issue. If arrangements are not made to address the payment, services may be paused until the payment has been resolved.

Insurance Reimbursement

If you provide your insurance information, our billing department will file the claim electronically on your behalf. If the claim is rejected, you will need to contact your insurance company to determine where to mail the superbill. Once the claim is submitted, you should receive your reimbursement check within a few weeks. If you’re using insurance for reimbursement, it’s important to contact your provider at the start of therapy to determine your out-of-network reimbursement rate. This is typically between 30%-80%, but it depends on your plan.

Crisis and Emergency Policy

While I strive to support you during your journey, I am not available for crisis or emergency support outside of scheduled sessions. If you are experiencing an emergency and cannot reach me, please:

  • Go to your nearest emergency room,

  • Call 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), or

  • Text HOME to 741741 to reach a crisis counselor.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re struggling to manage things on your own, therapy can be a helpful place to start!

Trust me — you don’t have to have all the answers before reaching out—that’s what therapy is for!

Whether you’re navigating trauma, relationship challenges, or just trying to make sense of where you are in life, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you move forward.

  • Your first session is all about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping to achieve, and any concerns or questions you might have.

There’s no pressure to go too deep right away—we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. This is your space, and my goal is to make sure you feel safe and supported from the start.

  • Sessions are typically 45 minutes long. However, if you feel like you need a longer session, we can discuss extended appointment options to better fit your needs.

  • That’s okay! Many of the people I work with are coming to therapy for the first time. It’s normal to feel nervous or unsure about what to expect.

I’ll walk you through everything, answer your questions, and make sure you feel comfortable as we go. To get a sense of my personality, I typically recommend checking out my Instagram here or YouTube here.

  • Oooohhhh! Trust me I get it! I’ve been where you are: find a therapist who seems like a great fit… buuuttt after your first session you realize they’re not a good fit for you! And it’s a headache to realize…. you’ve got to start all… over… again… 🤦🏽‍♀️

Even though you know you need support, it’s HARD to open up to someone completely new! I get it!

To ease that stress, I recommend checking out my YouTube or Instagram so you can get a sense of my personality before making a decision. Your comfort level with your therapist is one of the most important factors in your progress, so it’s important to find the right fit. To help, I’ve created worksheets to guide you in choosing the best therapist for your needs—even if it’s not me. 🙂

  • Absolutely not! While those phrases do have their place sometimes, that’s not the core of how I work. Therapy with me is a conversation. It’s collaborative, practical, and grounded in real tools and strategies that you can use in your daily life.

I’m here to do more than just listen—I’m here to help you unpack what’s going on, explore solutions, and move toward the life you want. Listen — we’re in the trenches together ok?!

  • My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my job is to provide a safe space, offer insights, and equip you with tools to make decisions that align with your values and goals.

I also draw from my extensive training in trauma and crisis care to guide our work together, especially if your experiences feel heavy or overwhelming.

  • Nope! You can send me a message anytime through the secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal, and I’ll respond as soon as I can. We can also arrange a brief 15-minute call in between sessions for on-the-go support. If the call exceeds 15 minutes, it will be billed at $37+ depending on the length of time. I want to make sure you feel supported, even between sessions.

  • Yes! I offer both virtual and in-person sessions to meet your needs. Virtual sessions are a great option if you have a busy schedule or prefer the comfort of being in your own space, while in-person sessions provide that face-to-face connection some people really value.

  • Virtual therapy with me is exactly like therapy in person—you get the same version of me whether we’re on a screen or in the same room. I show up fully, and we’ll have the same deep conversations, tools, and resources to help you reach your goals.

I’ve heard some people share that they didn’t have a great experience with virtual therapy elsewhere, but when they decided to give it another shot with me, they’ve enjoyed the process and gotten what they needed from our sessions. Virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy, and it’s convenient too—you can join from the comfort of your home or wherever you feel most at ease.

  • Yes! I’ve even booked lunch sessions with clients before. As long as you’re able to stay engaged in the session, you’re more than welcome to eat.

Therapy is about creating a comfortable and supportive environment for you.

  • I’m not currently in-network with any insurance providers, but I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance if they offer out-of-network reimbursement.
